Cebu Air Inc., operator of budget carrier Cebu Pacific, posted a net income of PhP3.09 billion in the first half of 2010.  This was up by 55.6 percent from a year ago, on the back of higher passenger traffic as a result of additional flights this year.

Domestic air traffic rose 10.45 percent year-on-year in the first half of 2010, according to the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB).  Data shows that 8.39 million passengers flew on domestic flights in the January-June period this year, up from 7.59 million passengers a year ago.

Roxaco Land Corp., the property arm of sugar producer Roxas and Co., Inc. is planning a number of tourism and residential projects to expand its business.  Its joint venture projects include the 88-hectare residential beach resort Peninsula de Punta Fuego and the 61-hectare seafront property Terrazas de Punta Fuego, both in Nasugbu, Batangas.
It said more projects will allow Roxaco to raise revenues by as much as half every year in the next three years.

Spirit of Manila flies to Taipei

Spirit of Manila Airlines, the country’s newest carrier, is now operating thrice weekly to Taipei, according to a report by Philippine Star.  Spirit of Manila, the first Philippine airline to fly to Taipei out of Clark, said its timely expansion of more direct flights would have a positive impact in the China-Taiwan market, and would provide better service to passengers from Central and Northern Luzon.
