Imperial Palace Waterpark Resort & SpaA Korean group, which is constructing a 616-room resort hotel complex in Lapu Lapu City, has unveiled its plan to also construct a retirement village and a golf course in the coastal town of Cordova located at the southeastern tip of Mactan Island, Cebu. Phil BXT Corp., a Korean firm led by Yong Jun Park, will pursue the Retirement Home Enclaves and Golf Community Development on a 100-hectare lot in Cordova. located at the southeastern tip of Mactan Island, Cebu.

Phil BXT Corp., a Korean firm led by Yong Jun Park, will pursue the Retirement Home Enclaves and Golf Community Development on a 100-hectare lot in Cordova.

Jefferson Lim, a consultant of Park, said the company will start the development of the multi-million-peso project once the construction of the Imperial Palace Waterpark Resort and Spa on a 7.5-hectare lot in Barangay Maribago, Lapu Lapu City is in full swing.

Lim said Phil BXT is investing P3 billion for the two projects, which seek to further increase tourist arrivals from South Korea.

Phil BXT is a new real estate firm organized by Park to develop the two projects. Because of Constitutional restrictions on foreign ownership of land in the Philippines, Park partnered with local investors to form Joil-UBF, which bought the properties in Maribago and Cordova.

Phil BXT vice president Jerome Lim said that under the plan, the company will develop a complete retirement facility on the 100-hectare property.

He said the facility shall include a 27-hole golf course expanding across 10,800 yards of green grass, a two-level clubhouse with a floor area of 1,500 square meters, and 250-yard driving range with 70 hitting bays.

The project will also include a 100-room golfers lodge, he added. The company has tapped the services of legendary American golfer Arnold Palmer to design the course.

Lim said that on the side of the golf course, the company will construct a retirement village which will consist of 300 condominium units in 5 three-storey buildings as well as 150 single family units.

"At the center of the residential area, a 1,000 square meter community clubhouse will be built. It will include all the amenities and perks to ensure the residents' comfort and pleasure," he said.

Completion of the retirement village and golf course is expected sometime in 2009, or a year after the projected completion of Imperial Palace Hotel.

To construct a retirement village is a great idea. I believe it will be very successful. Seniour people would love such an idea. The main thing is to provide them with help they sometimes will need. You know not long ago I read a very interesting parable about old and young people. I found a very nice book at the book search engine http://pdf.rapid4me.com . The main idea was the following: without old people the young won't have the future because to solve problems old people have experience as well as wisdom.

I just hope that measures have been created to safeguard the Filipinos' interest. Imagine having senior Koreans use the resources of the Filipinos. Are we going to let foreigners own our lands? Do we want to be squatting in our very own country? The government should look beyond income and other monetary returns, it's our own interests that should come first. Would we be able to do the same thing in their country? I guess not.

I've just come back from Imperial Palace Waterpark Resort and Spa.
If you go to Cebu sometime, you should definitely stay in this hotel.
This hotel was just open last year , everything is new and clean!!!
There is huge pool area which has 3 watersliders , wave pool , stream pool , kids pool and many cavanas.
My son loved to swim at the kids pool and stay there all day. Of course it has beautiful beach out there.
All of the hotel stuffs are very nice and helpful.
We enjoy buffet breakfast at the familia restaurant every morning.
They have Japanese food section , Korean food section and continental food section.
I am sure everyone likes it!
If you go to shopping to downtown , the hotel has free shuttle bus to shopping center.
It takes about 45 to 60 minutes to get there. You can enjoy shopping and local food.
If you go vacation with kids , I really recommend this hotel ! It's a super paradise !!
I can't wait to go back there again!!!
