JTKC Land Inc. which owns the Discovery chain of hotels in the country, plans to build a businessman's hotel in Bonifacio Global City, according to a report by Philippine Star.

Ascott Limited has signed contracts to manage two new serviced residences apartments in the Philippines. It will construct the 220-unit Ascott Bonifacio Global City Manila as its second Ascott-branded property in the Philippines, after the one in Makati. It will also manage the 215-unit Citadines Salcedo Makati as the first Citadines apartment-hotel in the country. Both properties are expected to open in 2014.

Dusit Thani Manila has recently unveiled its newly repainted, state-of-the-art monochromatic beige-colored facade to complete the final leg of its massive US$20-million renovation.

Belle Grande Manila Bay, an integrated resort and casino complex being constructed on a reclaimed portion of Manila Bay, is expected to have its soft opening by the fourth quarter of 2011.

Belle Corp., the developer of the project, said it also plans to launch other new projects, including the Lakeside Fairways, a condotel on top of the podium of Belle Grande Manila Bay, and the second phase of Nob Hill in Tanauan, Batangas.

Century Properties plans to venture into hotel development as it seeks to further expand its revenue stream.

CPG is positioning itself in the tourism business, which is seen to be the next sunshine industry as the government steps up efforts to promote the country.  CPG has teamed up with Group Developers Inc., Caylaway Development Corp. and Batulao Bio-loop Farms Inc. to transform a 142-hectare property in Batulao, Batangas into a major leisure and resort community.

Radisson Blu Hotel, a five-star hotel in Cebu City, has redefined the accommodation sector in Cebu.  Radisson Blu Hotel is jointly-owned by SM Development Corp. and Carlson Group. It has 400 business class guest rooms and suites that are functional and offer an excellent view of either the city or the Mactan Channel.

Hotel chain operator Tune Hotels plans to open its newest property in Makati by 17th July 2012.  The 213-room Tune Hotel Makati will be the fourth Tune Hotel to be opened in the country, after those in Angeles City, Cebu City and Ermita, Manila.

Tune Hotels said it would offer introductory price of PhP288 a night for stays at Tune Hotel Makati from 17th July to 31st December 2012. The offer runs until 21st May 2012.

Three hotels in the Philippines have been recognised in the 2014 Travellers’ Choice Awards of TripAdvisor, a popular travel ratings website.  Shangri-La Mactan Resort and Spa in Cebu and Discovery Shores in Boracay were included in the Top 25 Hotels for Families–Asia. Shangri-La Mactan ranked sixth, while Discovery Shores landed in 24th place.
