Cebu Pacific Will Fly to Israel

Cebu Air Inc., operator of budget airline Cebu Pacific, has filed an application for a permit to launch flights to Israel.

The airline unit of the Gokongwei group asked the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) to designate Cebu Pacific as official Philippine carrier to Israel.  It also seeks an allocation of seven flight frequencies to Tel Aviv under Route 1 in accordance with the recently concluded air services agreement between the Philippines and Israel.

The Philippines and Israel signed a new air services agreement in November 2013, which allowed designated airlines of each country to serve 21 flights per week between any points in the Philippines and Israel.  Both countries also agreed on third freedom flights per week on one intermediate point in Mumbai, India and one beyond point in Madrid, Spain.
