Berjaya Manila Hotel

Berjaya Hotels and Resorts of Malaysia is spending PhP200 million for the renovation of Makati Avenue Hotel.

Event Center Rizal

Thunderbird Resorts, Inc., operator of the luxurious Thunderbird Resorts in Binangonan, Rizal, has built a 500-seat-capacity Event Center in the same area. The venue is now expected to host performances, concerts, exhibitions, meetings, banquets, and other events in Rizal.

Tourism between the Philippines and Japan prove its resilience amid the economic global scenario as activities still abound.  In line with the Department of Tourism (DOT)’s efforts to intensify marketing campaigns for the Japanese market, DOT Team Japan and Cebu Pacific have developed a stimulus plan which includes direct flights to Manila from Osaka, accommodations, tours, and transfers.

“These are fruits of our partnerships with tourism establishments such as airlines, hotels, tour operators and service providers.  During these challenging times, we see all the more that working together is important to spur growth in the industry,” said Ace Durano, Secretary of Tourism.

GoHotel Palawan

Robinsons Land Corp. will open a shopping mall in Palawan province in November, which will bring to 31 its total number of malls in the country.  “Robinsons Land also plans to develop a residential subdivision and the Puerto Princesa branch of gohotels.ph,” the property firm said.

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts is expected to open its Shangri-La at the Fort, Manila in 2014.  The hotel, with 60 storeys and 577 hotel guestrooms, 97 hotel residences and 96 exclusive Horizon Homes, is seen to become a Manila landmark.

A new hotel has risen at the historic Walled City of Intramuros.  The nine-storey Bay Leaf hotel was built just a stone’s throw away from historical gems such as the San Agustin Church, Manila Cathedral and Fort Santiago.  A charming boutique hotel with a ‘five star’ ambience, Bay Leaf was built by the Laurel family, which is also the owner of the Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU), which is also located in Intramuros.

 

Accor Novotel Manila

Accor Asia-Pacific has launched the Novotel Manila Araneta Centre in Cubao, Quezon City in partnership with the Araneta Group.  The occasion marks the first time that Accor will jointly invest in a Philippine-based hotel. Novotel Manila Araneta Centre will be the only upscale hotel in Quezon City. It will have 415 rooms, a 600-square-metre ballroom and large meeting facilities.  The hotel is expected to cater to the needs of the 56,000 registered businesses in Quezon City and to the MICE (meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions) market.

Hamilton Hotel

Alliance Global Group Inc., the holding company of businessman Andrew Tan, will build a new luxury hotel within the group’s 25-hectare Newport City just across the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 in Pasay City.

Bakasyunan Resort Zambales

Bakasyunan Resort and Conference Center in Iba, Zambales province has been upgraded as an AA tourist establishment. As such, the Department of Tourism (DOT) endorsed the facility as a Philippine tourism establishment with excellent accommodations, services and facilities.
