Biak na Bato

It all started when our group arranged a trip to Biak-na-Bato in San Miguel, Bulacan. Biak-na-Bato is at the edge of Bulacan and is about a two-hour drive from Metro Manila. I went there without any idea of what's in store for the group. Being a Bulakeño, I thought I have already seen the best of what the province has to offer.

The island is made up of villages, namely: Yapak in the north, Balabag in the middle, and Manocmanoc in the south.

Rising 1,500 meters above the sea, Baguio City enjoys a relatively cool weather throughout the year. On the average, Baguio is at least eight degrees cooler than any place in the lowlands. Not surprisingly, Baguio has become the "summer capital" of the country.
 

Lilo-an shows way in treating wastewater

Cebu City – Lilo-an, a second class municipality located north of this city, has shown the way to other coastal tourist towns on how to treat wastewater flowing to the sea. The town is the site of a decentralized wastewater treatment facility, a pilot project funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), which has significantly reduced the coliform cell counts in the seawater near the beaches.

Survivor at Caramoan

Caramoan Island in Camarines Sur province has been chosen once again as the location of an edition of the hit reality game show Survivor.  Survivor shot the two international versions of the show on the island in the past.  This time, Survivor Israel is filming another edition of Hisardot (Survivor) at the Gota Village Resort in Caramoan. The show is to be telecast in Israel until June 2010, according to a report by People's Tonight.

Biliran destinations, hotels and resorts

Almeria town in Biliran is intensifying the promotion of its little-known tourism destinations.  Municipal councilor Leonel Morillo, who chairs the council’s committee on tourism, said that several spots, such as the waterfalls in the villages of Sampao and Caucab, have remained largely unknown to local and foreign tourists.

Top summer destinations

A survey conducted by StratPOLLS in March 2011 listed Boracay as the top summer travel destination for residents living in Metro Manila.  Of the 250 respondents, 76 percent picked Boracay as the “top dreamland destination,” specifically among the rich and middle classes of Metro Manila.

Just beside Intramuros is Rizal Park, a 60-hectare conglomerate of gardens, historical markers, plazas, an artist's sanctuary, a 1913 bronze monument of Jose Rizal, a grand stadium, an observatory, an open-air concert hall, a light-and-sound theatre, restaurants, food kiosks and playgrounds, with dozens of fountains. Fronting the northwest side of the park is Manila Hotel, whose lobby is one of the most imposing in the world. Along the park's bayside, tourists can have an unobstructed view of the fabled Manila Bay sunset.

How to go to Cavite
