Student Visa in the Philippines

The Philippines Bureau of Immigration has asked foreign students who plan to study in the Philippines to secure required documents such as a visa or study permit before enrolling in a Philippine school.

Foreigners who want to enroll in a Philippine college or university are required by law to get a student visa, according to Immigration Commissioner Ricardo David Jr.  Those who wish to enroll in elementary and secondary schools, or those who want to take special courses such as language tutorials, must also apply for a special study permit.  Foreigners pay PhP4,740 for a special study permit and PhP6,550 for a student visa that should be settled directly with the bureau’s cashiers.
