Malacañang Heritage Tours: Unlocking the Doors to Philippine History

The Department of Tourism (DOT) applauds and wholeheartedly supports the opening of three historic mansions within the Malacañang complex to the public. Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco commended the Malacañang Heritage Tours initiative, spearheaded by First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos, for providing both local and international tourists with a profound journey into the rich tapestry of Philippine history, culture, heritage, and tradition.

In her statement, Secretary Frasco stated, “The Department of Tourism welcomes and extends its full support for the Malacañang Heritage Tours, initiated by our First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos. We thank our First Lady for this remarkable initiative which provides local and foreign tourists a profound glimpse into our history, culture, heritage, and tradition.”

The Malacañang Heritage Tours feature three significant historical structures within the Malacañang compound: Bahay Ugnayan, the Teus Mansion, and the Goldenberg Mansion.

Bahay Ugnayan: Visitors and museum enthusiasts can witness the remarkable journey to the presidency of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

Teus Mansion: This mansion holds memorabilia of past Philippine presidents, previously displayed in the Kalayaan Hall presidential museum and library.

Goldenberg Mansion: A century-old mansion, now available for commercial events.

Secretary Frasco emphasized that the project underscores the Marcos administration’s commitment to recognizing Philippine heritage, tradition, and culture as invaluable components of the successful transformation of the tourism industry.

The Malacañang Heritage Tours are open to the public for free starting June 1, 2023, from Tuesdays to Sundays, from 9 AM to 4 PM. Visitors are encouraged to make reservations through sosec@malacañang.gov.ph.

This initiative marks a significant step toward making historical treasures accessible to the public and fostering a deeper appreciation for the rich cultural heritage that the Philippines proudly boasts.
