Cebu Pacific is Best Budget Airline

Aviation think tank Centre for Aviation recently has cited Cebu Pacific Air as the Asia-Pacific Low-Cost Carrier of the Year, during the recently concluded CAPA Aviation Awards for Excellence in Singapore.

Cebu Pacific Air chief executive adviser Garry Kingshott received the award from CAPA executive chairman Peter Harbison. CAPA–Centre for Aviation is the leading provider of independent aviation market intelligence, analysis and data services, covering worldwide developments.

The combined passenger traffic of Cebu Pacific and affiliate Tigerair Philippines rose 16.8 percent in the first eight months of 2014. Data from Cebu Air Inc. (CEB) show that Cebu Pacific and Tigerair flew 1.41 million passengers in August along rose 16.8 percent from 1.21 million in the same month last year.

This brought year-to-date traffic to 11.26 million, higher by 14.6 percent than 9.83 million in the same eight months of 2013. Cebu Pacific targets to carry more than 15 million passengers this year, and including the traffic of recently acquired Tigerair, Cebu Pacific expects more than 17 million by yearend.
