Cebu Air Inc., the operator of budget carrier Cebu Pacific, expects to fly over 17 million passengers this year, according to a report by Manila Standard Today.
Cebu Pacific President and CEO Lance Gokongwei said the growth would be driven by both domestic and international operations. "I think the economy is robust, so we see opportunity for growth across fields," he said.
Mr. Gokongwei said growth would also be partly driven by the integration of Tigerair Philippines' operations into Cebu Pacific's. "Without Tiger, we see an excess of 15 million passengers. With Tiger it's over 17 million. We saw slow growth last year, but there's still room, more than double digit growth," he said.
Cebu Pacific flew 14.4 million passengers in 2013, up by 8.3 percent over 13.3 million passengers flown in 2012.
