PAL and Cebu Pacific fly to Tokyo
Cebu Pacific Air launched flights to two new destinations in Japan on 30th March 2014.
Cebu Pacific became the first Philippine low-cost carrier to operate direct daily flights from Manila to Tokyo (Narita) and four times weekly flights from Manila to Nagoya.
“We are very excited to finally be able to offer Cebu Pacific’s trademark lowest fares to these two new destinations in Japan. With our seat sales, seamless Manila airport terminal connection and extensive network, we hope to stimulate travel and bring Japanese tourists to various destinations in fun Philippines,” said Cebu Pacific vice president for marketing and distribution Candice Iyog.
“Similarly, we hope these two new destinations will enable many Filipinos to explore Japan for leisure or business travel. Japan is now more accessible and more affordable with Cebu Pacific flights,” she said.
Lowest year-round fares start at P5,499. CEB fares to Nagoya and Narita are 70 percent lower than other full-service airlines.
Cebu Pacific also operates daily flights between Manila and Osaka for as low as P3,999.
Meanwnhile, flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) continues to expand its services as it opened a new route to Japan on 30th March 2014.
The new route, a twice-daily non-stop service between Manila and the Haneda International Airport in Tokyo, makes PAL the biggest carrier servicing flights between the Philippines and Japan.
Haneda International Airport, which is just 30 minutes from Central Tokyo, is a popular hub for business travelers and passengers who wish to take the quickest route to the city.
PAL said its new route complements the carrier's thrice-a-day flights to and from Narita Airport, which is about 64 kilometers east of Tokyo, from Manila.
PAL President and COO Ramon Ang said the new route is another growth opportunity for tourism and business between Japan and the Philippines.
"As the operator of the Philippines' flag carrier, we are deeply honored to serve as a bridge by which tourism and business between our two countries can grow," said Ang.
On top of these flights, PAL also has two daily flights between Tokyo and Cebu City in the Visayas.
