Best Hotels in Asia are in the Philippines

Three hotels in the Philippines have been recognised in the 2014 Travellers’ Choice Awards of TripAdvisor, a popular travel ratings website.  Shangri-La Mactan Resort and Spa in Cebu and Discovery Shores in Boracay were included in the Top 25 Hotels for Families–Asia. Shangri-La Mactan ranked sixth, while Discovery Shores landed in 24th place.

Greenhouse in General Luna, Siargao Island  ranked 25th in TripAdvisor’s Top 25 B&Bs (bed and breakfast) and Inns in Asia. It is the lone Philippine entry in the list.  Other categories include Top Hotels, Small Hotels, Bargain, Luxury and Romance, with each having global, regional and country lists.

Grand Hotel Kronenhof in Pontresina, Switzerland topped this year’s list of best hotels in the world followed by The Upper House (Hong Kong), with Gili Lankanfushi Maldives (Maldives) landing in third place.
