How to Apply for Tourism Jobs in the Philippines

Online job portal JobsDB Philippines said tourism is one of the growing sectors that have thousands of job openings this year.

It said some 10,000 jobs in the tourism sector are being posted every day, thanks to new hotels, casinos and resorts being built across the country.

JobsDB Philippines Country Manager Sheryll Tiburcio said touris jobs rank eighth in the top 10 sectors with the highest job opportunities. In the Philippines, around 10,000 jobs in hospitality and tourism industry are available at any given time, she said.

Tiburcio said there are 100,000 job seekers who have registered recently in the travel and tourism industry job site. 

The jobs search engine has partnered with Philippine Travel Operators and Agencies (Philtoa) in holding a one-day job fair at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City recently.

Luxury hotels such as Solaire and Sofitel, as well as resorts, travel agencies and hospitality sectors posted more than a hundred job openings at the event.

“The numbers are significant in that it tells us that there is a growing number of young Filipinos who are keen on being in the frontline of the ever-growing tourism industry, an industry that is poised to bring in 10 million tourists in the next three years,” said Tiburcio.
