New Immigration Cards at NAIA

The Bureau of immigration has started issuing new embarkation and disembarkation cards for  passengers on all international airports in the Philippines in March 2014.

The new cards are funded by the government free of any advertisements, the bureau said in a statement.  In the past practice, it was the airline companies that printed the cards and even photocopied them when the original forms ran out. Advertisers also used to pay to be featured in these cards.

“The design and data fields of the cards are aligned with our existing computer systems —the upgraded BI Information System,” the bureau said.   “Even the size of the color-coded forms is aligned with that of the standard passport page.”

The BIIS is a major component of the flagship National Justice Information System to link and share information among justice sector section.
