Tourism Congress Philippines

Tourism Secretary Alberto Lim said the private tourism sector can expect a wider representation at the Tourism Congress with the amendment of Section 137 of the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of Republic Act No. 9593 (otherwise known as the Tourism Act of 2009). 
 
Under RA 9593, the Secretary of Tourism is supposed to convene a Tourism Congress composed of representatives of all accredited tourism enterprises and former government officials involved in the tourism industry within 30 days of publication of the IRR.
 
Secretary Lim assured with the new Tourism Congress he will convene, all primary and secondary tourism enterprises who are accredited by the DoT will be invited, not just aggrupations or associations.
