Boracay and Palawan are Among Top Beach Islands in Asia

Boracay and Palawan were once again cited as among the best islands in Asia.

The two were included in this year’s “Top 10 Islands in Asia” list of TripAdvisor, a popular travel ratings website. Boracay ranked sixth, while Palawan landed in the eighth spot.  Ko Tao in Surat Thani province in Thailand topped the list of TripAdvisor, which is based on travellers’ reviews and ratings. This was followed by Bali (Indonesia), Ko Phangan (Thailand), Ko Lanta (Thailand) and Gili Trawangan (Indonesia).

Globally, Ambergris Caye in Belize took the top honours for the second year in a row, followed by Providenciales (Turks and Caicos), Bora Bora (French Polynesia), Marco Island (Florida) and Lewis and Harris (Scotland).

Located in Aklan province, Boracay has been hailed by TripAdvisor as the second best beach destination in the world in 2012.  Along with Palawan, the beach destination has often drawn praise from travel magazines abroad for its powdery white sand and crystal clear waters.
